Events at Chatsworth House 2023 –
Any holiday or short break to Derbyshire and the Peak District should include a visit to Chatsworth House and Gardens. The house itself has 30 rooms of history open to the public and Chatsworth Farmyard and Playground provides a great place to entertain the little ones. There are plenty of cultural and creative events to choose from including crafts, tours, walks and fairs. Here’s just a selection of what you can expect during the spring, summer and autumn during 2023.
20th January – A history of Chatsworth in eight objects
Be immersed into the history of Chatsworth through eight objects in the Chatsworth collection.
4th February – 11th March – Sketching and Scuplture Gallery
If you are interested in learning how to draw this is your opportunity to get tuition from an expert, with privileged access to the sculpture gallery, all conducted whilst the house is closed to the public.
15th April – 16th April – Dry Stone Walling for Beginners
A two day course held over a weekend. Expert guidance will see you return home knowing the basics of how to build a dry stone wall.
2nd March – 14th September – Parkland Walking Tour
Guided walks in Chatsworth Park with an expert from the landscape team. Get to know the landscape and woods, animals and wildlife of the Chatsworth Estate,
12th May – 14th May – Chatsworth International Horse Trials
A weekend of high quality equestrian eventing, including world class dressage, show jumping and cross country. Entertainment for all the family including a shopping village with over 100 stands and dog agility.
1st September – 3rd September – Chatsworth Country Fair
The Chatsworth Country Fair attracted 75,000 visitors in 2022 and features displays both in the grand ring and in the air as well as demonstrations from celebrity chefs. A fantastic event for the whole family.
